I took my boat out one afternoon with Jennifer.... there was a tropical storm down near Fort Myers at the time, however, it was supposed to go the other way.
I was out in the Gulf of Mexico 21 miles... it was foggy, rather calm, and no boats anywhere. We were fishing for grouper and doing very well. I went to start the boat only to find it was screwed up. I play with the motor for a while and noticed the coil (which was supposed to have been fixed) was completely screwed.
I notice the ocean current was rather strong, and we were drifting further out to sea. I threw the anchor over, however, it snapped the rope. We continued to drift further out... in the distance we saw some crazy looking clouds and it was getting dark. I took some extra roap and wrapped it around a spare battery and used that for an anchor (it worked).
I was very worried, however, I stayed calm because I didn't want to scare Jen. She was sitting in the back fishing and didn't even realize how much trouble we were in. The scariest moment for me was when I made the first call for help on the radio... I knew if they didn't hear us (which was very possible) that we were screwed.
I called a few times and no answer... finally, I barely hear someone answer. Long story short, they said if we were out even a 1/2 mile more, they would not have been able to pick up our radio singal.
The rescue boat (sea tow) came out and towed us in... on the way in, we saw a water spout in the distance... and the seas started to get rough. That next morning the tropical storm passed right over where we were.
Moral of the story... never go out far in the ocean on a boat with only one engine. And always have a working radio and check the weather.
I haven't had a good home cooked meal in a while... I'm so sick of fast food I could eat a cat. Here are some links to a cooking resource site for all those people who love to cook or want to learn to cook: cooking resources1cooking2cooking3cooking4
This is the last Saturday of Spring break. Hardwood flooring and cooking go well together. The woman is learning how to cook and that's great news cause I get hungry very often. "Modern Women" suck... I think things should be 'the way they used to be' (in some ways) ... it takes far too much training these days to have a good women =)
The floors of your home, garage, or office can make all the difference in the world when it comes in regards to overall appearence. Furthermore, choosing the right flooring can benefit you in more ways than you know... switching from carpet to tile can help your allegies, for example.
Last year, I pulled up my old carpet and switched to tile because I have pets. This made a huge different. I did, however, keep carpet in my room -- I'm thinking of switching to hardwood floors though.
